The Vancouver Fire Department contacted us a couple years ago to assist them with a pilot project for fire hose testing.  Their existing program involved each hall performing their own testing, but they felt that the time it was taking to complete the jobs was too long.  Labour costs and apparatus downtime was a big factor.  We were able to come in and complete the 220,000+ feet of firehose testing to NFPA 1962 standards in 3 weeks - which includes 40+ Apparatus in less than half the time it was taking for in-house testing.  The reduced downtime and streamlined operation that we provided led to an extremely substantial cost savings for the department, and the pilot project has now turned into an annual event.
